About + Contact
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Hello.
I don't know why you are here, but happy you are just the same. My name is Ryan and I live and work in Salt Lake City (although I am getting antsy here. NYC, call me please) as a Design and Creative Director. I studied photography at the University of Utah and have spent the better part of the last 2 decades working as a designer (mostly) and a photographer (not enough). I also write songs and play the guitar and piano. I am doing just about everything I can to enrich my creative life. I love movies and records, poetry and working in my darkroom.
I've worked with some really big clients and some really small clients. I've split my career working on agency side and in-house marketing teams. I've been working as a freelance designer and creative consultant full-time since 2018. I called this freelance venture 'W.W.A.' from Hemingway's quote to the left. Work without applause is my ethos. It doesn't matter who's watching or paying attention. The work matters. Design Matters. Beauty Matters. LIke Buckminster Fuller said: "When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty...
but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.”
I love working with smart, passionate people and am always looking for a new horizon. If you're here, maybe we should talk. There's a list below of pertinent information ... work history, references of some folks I loved working with/for and a list of things I know and things I love. Oh, and some contact stuff if you'd like to get in touch with me.
Thanks for stopping in. Stay Radical.
